Ramadan Beyond Fasting

As you all know, Ramadan is right around the corner, so inshallah on August 6th- 8th we will have a Ramadan seminar at the Dar-ul-Islam Masjid. The lecture series will include various topics on how to make the most of our Ramadan and how to dedicate ourselves by more than fasting. There will be a various panel of speakers including Sheikh Khalid Abdul Sattar from Maryland, Imam Shakir Ibn Yunus from Kentucky, and our local speakers. We will begin shortly after Maghrib on Friday August 6th. There will be a two night brothers sleepover with complimentary breakfasts. Lunch and Dinner tickets will be $5. So please bring all of your friends and family to benefit from this event. Schedule will be added soon..

Skyzone

Inshallah on Saturday, July 31st, the Muslim Youth of St. Louis will be going to Skyzone from 4:00-6:00 PM. There will only be 3D Dodge Ball, so there will be a 12 year old age limit. The cost will be $20 per person and each person MUST have the Skyzone liability waiver filled out. If you are under the age of 18 a parent or legal guardian MUST fill this out for you. If you have been to Skyzone before, there is no guarantee that your waiver will be on file so everyone MUST fill one out. The waivers will be available from any MYSTL board member or to download the waiver, please click here. In order to jump, every person MUST be at Skyzone by 3:30 PM, otherwise you will not be able to jump. For directions to Skyzone, please click here (directions are from Dar-ul-Islam Masjid). There will be no open jump, 3D Dodge Ball only. Everyone is welcome, so tell all of your friends and family, and remember to bring: $20 fee, liability waiver, and be there at 3:30 PM!

Summer Camp 2010

Asalamualaikum, we would like to remind you to turn your forms in for MYSTL Summer Camp 2010, as the deadline is fast approaching and we can not guarantee you a camp t-shirt if your form is turned in after the deadline. How to Prepare College Bound Students for College

Inshallah this Saturday May, 29, after Zuhr, MYSTL will host a mini seminar entitled “How to Prepare College Bound Students for College”. This seminar will touch on key topics about how college students should abstain from the fitna that comes about in college life. The guest speaker is still to be determinedand there will be a panel of college students from SLU, Wash U, and Mizzou to share their experiences and answer any questions. All high school and college students are welcome. Please invite your friends and family as well to this event. Jazakallah khairun and we hope to see everyone there.

Islam Beyond Ourselves

MYSTL Seminar about a Muslim’s responsibility to his or her community and how we can help society outside of our inner Islamic circle. There will be a panel of speakers including Mufti Hussain Kamani and Mufti Azeemuddin Ahmed both from Chicago. We will begin after Maghrib on April 16 and will lectures all weekend for every age. Meals will be for sale all day Saturday, and for brothers over the 12 there will be a sleepover Saturday night, no sleepover Friday night. We hope everyone can attend and invite everyone that they can.
